About Erbil
About Erbil

A Beacon of Religious Freedom
Home to the only growing Christian population in the Middle East and once named the Fifth Safest City in the World (Numbeo - 2018), Erbil stands as a shining example of religious tolerance and coexistence. With its vibrant communities of Muslims, Christians, Yazidis, and other faith groups, the Kurdistan Region has long been a sanctuary for those fleeing religious persecution. The protection of churches, synagogues, and temples, as well as the region’s commitment to religious dialogue, reflects its unwavering dedication to human dignity and freedom of belief. The city has welcomed displaced religious minorities, rebuilt places of worship, and fostered interfaith harmony—making it the perfect setting for this gathering of faith and leadership.
